THE PORT OF BRUNSWICK: Located 30 miles north of St. Marys, the port is comprised of three Georgia Port Authority (GPA) owned deepwater terminals, two of which are directly operated by the GPA. One of the fastest growing auto and heavy machinery ports in North America, more than 12 major auto manufacturers, supported by three auto processors, utilize the Colonel’s Island Terminal. The terminal is also home to the South Atlantic’s fastest growing bulk export / import operation. Agri-products from Georgia and the rich U.S. grain belt, as well as import products, flow smoothly across the Colonel’s Island docks.
THE PORT OF SAVANNAH: Located 90 miles north of St. Marys, Savannah is home to the largest single-terminal container facility of its kind in North America and comprised of two modern, deepwater terminals: Garden City Terminal and Ocean Terminal. Together, these facilities exemplify the GPA’s exacting standards of efficiency and productivity. Garden City Terminal is the fourth busiest container handling facility in the United States, encompassing more than 1,200 acres and moving millions of tons of containerized cargo annually.
THE PORT OF FERNANDINA: Located right across the river from St. Marys, the Port of Fernandina is a natural deep water port just 2.2 miles from the open ocean. A 950 foot turning basin is directly adjacent to the 1,200 linear foot pier. Tug services are available and most vessels can transit from the sea buoy in one hour. The port handles a variety of cargo, including steel, aluminum, machinery, paper and forest products and consumer goods. It has 250,000 square-feet of on-site warehouse space, 100,000+ square-feet off-port, and 10 acres of open storage, all which sits minutes away from a new six-lane A1A/SR 200 highway enabling easy access to both Interstates 95 and 10.
